Since the outbreak of Covid-19 global pandemic, the world has been going through a huge loss and crisis, be it loss of life, loss of business, loss of job, financial crisis and so on. This pandemic is spreading in a very fast pace and we have not seen a vaccine yet successfully tested and available. This causes a huge concern in our life as the threat of affecting COVID is highly likely. A life with full of fear, anxiety, threat… Causing widespread mental health issues. Normal life has been derailed by all means…
Can we live like this for long? How long?? This could lead to another worst mental health pandemic…. We have to find a way to come out of this crisis and to find

What is A “New Normal” Life?
A New Normal Life practice is nothing but modifying our daily habits to ensure prevention from the disease as well as boost and maintain immunity to lead a healthy life. We need to bring back cheers to our life by fighting COVID, bringing back our old days BUT with a carefully crafted protection around us. This may lower the anxiety, fear and threat so that we also lower the risk of other health issues. We need to transform ourself to a “Careful Life” from a “Careless life”.
COVID-19 is a type of airborne disease which is highly contagious & attacks over respiratory system. Though statistics of this diseases shows its high incidence rate, high occurrence, fast replication & great extent of spreading nature & fear of high mortality rate. Till dat ,there is no any effective remedy in the form medicine or vaccine is developed in contemporary science to combat over this situation. Therefore, prevention remains the unique way to overcome such pandemic state.
As the phrase goes on” Prevention is better than Cure”, it appropriately suits in the present scenario. In present day crisis of the global pandemic it’s better to take necessary precautions so as to prevent the spread of the disease. Life Must go on with prevention norms. Therefore, following measures should be taken when we step out for our day to day activity.
1. Social Distancing:
Always ensure a minimum distance of 1 meter (3 feet) between yourself and others so as to avoid any droplet infection when any person cough or sneezes. A new way to be in touch with your near and dear
2. Avoid Mass gathering:
One should avoid any mass gathering at any market place, banks or any wedding, parties etc. because it is difficult to maintain a safe distance from others in a overcrowded areas which increases the risk of infection from one infected person to a healthy individual. Digital is the new way forward
3. Wear a Mask:
Wearing mask is the most important precaution that one should take to avoid the spread of virus. But it is important to wear the mask in a right manner and cover your nose and mouth properly. Never reuse a single use mask more than once. And removal of the mask is also very important. Do not touch the exposed surface of the mask with bare hand. if at all u happen to touch immediately wash your hands with normal soap and water. Discard the mask in proper place or immediately wash the mask with soap and water.
4. Follow Proper Hygiene:
Hygiene Frequent hand wash with soap & water or use of hand sanitizer reduces the risk of virus transmission. Also the frequently touched surfaces like desks, door handles, sitting areas all should be disinfected thoroughly at regular time interval. Mobile phones, pens can also be a carrier of virus as in glass flat areas it can stay for so many days on an average of 20 degrees.
I suggest make a place for the items which we bring from outside,keep those packets in separate corner or room where there is no or very less contacts of family member. Either balcony or one corner of room or keep outside in a box or plate whatever u feel comfortable. do not touch them for 48hrs. After that wipe it with disinfectant cloth or towel and use them. Some things if u want imminently like milk packets fruits and vegetables wash thoroughly with disinfectant liquids or salt water etc and then wash your hands properly. During this cleaning time pls wear mask and don’t touch your face.
5. Eat Healthy and Exercise:
A healthy outside starts from the inside. So healthy eating habits helps to nourish the body. Eat fresh and warm food. Along with that a daily 20-30 mins of exercise helps to strength up the muscles and body organs. Very importantly do breathing exercises, do pranayama. It keeps you fresh always.
6. Stay Home:
-One should step out only when needed and that too with complete precautions. If any symptoms like mild fever, cough, cold is there one should never step out and isolate oneself in a room so as to avoid any further spread of infection.
Also, if someone is visiting you at your home, identity a particular area for visitors and keep yourself in a safe distance and maintain that visitor’s place absolutely disinfected once they leave.
7. When in need, seek help:
If any symptoms like mild fever, cough, breathlessness then one should consult a doctor immediately and isolate oneself
8. Be mindful when outside:
Whenever going out to shop remember to carry your own bags and hand sanitizer. Avoid to touch anything without purpose. And do not touch your face or mask without hand washing or sanitizing.
Try to use disposable hand gloves when going for grocery shopping. And dispose them properly after use
Daily morning and evening make steam inhalation as a routine task. Steaming cleanses the Respiratory tract and removes the toxins and reduces the risk of infection ..
10. Gargle with warm water and salt:
In Ayurveda we also use Galashodaka choornam for gargling, which cleanse the throat.
11. Having Ayush kwath twice a day:
The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India has recommended ‘Ayush Kwath’ to improve the immunity and combat the infection. Ayush Kwath due to its immune-modulatory, antiviral, anti-oxidant, seems to be effective in immuno-regulation for controlling viral infections like COVID-19
12. Not to panic:
Panic and fear about pandemic can cause anxiety which can weaken your immune system. Keep yourself fear free but mindful.
