This is characterized by stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint .
Commonly seen in diabetic patients and in people above 40 years
CAUSES
Shoulder joint is made up of bones, ligaments and tendons that are encased in a capsule of connective tissues. Frozen shoulder occurs when this capsule thickens and tightens around the shoulder joints, restricting its movements.

PREVENTION
Most common reason is lack of mobility of shoulder, if it is due to injury, broken arm or a stroke. In such cases one has to take the advice of doctor for exercises and treatments.
INVESTIGATION
Normally with science and symptoms it is possible for doctors to identify the condition if required X-Ray or MRI can be taken.
In Ayurveda
This condition is called as Apabahuka. It is caused due to the imbalance in the vata and kapha doshas.
